What is Laser Hair Removal?

Laser hair removal uses a concentrated beam of laser light to remove unwanted hair, so you can enjoy finer hair for years to come! Common treatment areas include the legs, armpits, upper lip, chin, and bikini line.

Am I a Candidate for Laser Hair Removal?

Healthy individuals who would like to reduce their hair growth can benefit from laser hair removal. Ideal candidates will have a lighter skin tone with dark hair, as the laser light targets the pigment in the hair shaft. The Laser Hair Removal Procedure

To begin laser hair removal treatment, you will be given special goggles to protect your eyes from the laser light. A cooling gel may also be applied to the treatment area. Using concentrated laser light, the hair follicles are heated and damaged, preventing the possibility of hair re-growth. Because the hair follicles absorb the energy specifically, this has no damaging effect on the surrounding skin. Since hair grows in cycles, only those hairs that are active currently are destroyed. For this reason, a series of treatments (typically 4-6) is required at 4–8-week intervals to achieve the maximal result.

Laser Hair Removal Recovery

There is no downtime required after laser hair removal, however, you may experience swelling and redness for the first few hours. To reduce any discomfort, ice packs can be applied to the treated area. For the best outcomes, avoid sunlight and tanning beds for six weeks after treatment, and use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30.
