Non-Surgical Procedures Kybella®

Before & After Photos >

Kybella is a new, minimally invasive injectable medication that has been FDA approved for the treatment of a double chin, “turkey neck”, or submental fullness. A double chin, or excess fat below the chin, creates an unattractive appearance to the neck and can be a source of anxiety or unneeded stress. While the face tends to lose fat overall as we age, additional fat tends to deposit in the neck and under the chin. This results in a blunted jawline and has an overall negative effect on facial harmony.

A double chin can be due to several factors including weight fluctuation, aging, or genetics. Even if you aren’t experiencing weight shifts, excess fat and weight under the chin is often hereditary and can be present at a young age. Despite a strict exercise and diet regimen, this fat is often difficult to lose.

Traditionally, surgery was the only option to treat this unwanted submental fat. Now, using Kybella injections, we are able to dissolve away this stubborn fat, re-contouring the area and providing you with a balanced chin and jawline.

After rigorous testing, this fat-reducing injection became the first and only FDA approved treatment that successfully melts away fat. And best of all, it doesn’t require surgery!

Frequently Asked Questions

Question - How is Kybella administered?

The product is administered directly into the fat underneath the chin using multiple, carefully spaced injections. The needles are tiny and very well tolerated.

Question - How many treatments are necessary?

Patients typically require 2-4 treatments depending on the amount of submental fat present and its response to therapy. The treatments are typically spaced out approximately 4-6 weeks apart.

Question - Are the results permanent?

All the studies that have been done to date suggest that the effects are permanent.

Question - What is the recovery like?

The procedure itself requires no downtime and you may return to your everyday normal activities immediately. The recovery is relatively painless. You may experience some discomfort and tenderness immediately after the treatment. Kybella does cause some swelling, which can last for 2-3 days.
