Am I a Good Candidate for Restylane Silk?

Ideal patients are in good overall health and have realistic expectations. Patients must not be currently pregnant or breastfeeding at the time of treatment. Severe allergies to lidocaine or other ingredients in the Restylane formula will also prohibit patients from receiving treatment. Before Your Restylane Silk Procedure

Before treatment, you will meet with your provider to discuss your desired outcome and review your medical history. To reduce the chance of bruising, you may be advised to avoid alcohol, certain supplements, and blood-thinning medications if medically appropriate. Clear pre-treatment instructions will be provided to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience.

Your Restylane Silk Procedure

The procedure typically takes about 30 minutes or less. After cleansing the area, a topical anesthetic may be applied to enhance comfort. However, because Restylane Silk contains a numbing agent called lidocaine, patients experience little discomfort. Using a fine needle, your provider will carefully place the filler into multiple areas around the mouth to enhance lip shape and smooth lines with precise results. Most patients resume normal activities immediately following treatment.

After Your Restylane Silk Procedure

Temporary swelling, redness, or tenderness around the injection site may occur, but usually resolves within a few days. Some temporary bruising is possible. While results are noticeable right away, the final appearance becomes more refined over one to two weeks as swelling subsides. Patients are typically advised to avoid strenuous exercise and excessive heat for 24 hours after treatment. Results typically last up to six months or more, and can be maintained with additional treatments.
