Buccal Fat Removal

The buccal fat pad is a pocket of fat that is located within the cheek. While everyone has some amount of buccal fat, some people have excess, resulting in a full, cheeky, baby-face appearance. While it is important to leave enough fat in the face to maintain a youthful look, excess buccal fat leads to rounded cheeks that hide your natural cheekbone and jawline. In such people, removal of a portion of the buccal fat can reduce their lower face fullness, giving them a defined, chiseled appearance.

One of the advantages of a buccal fat removal procedure is that there are no external skin incisions. Through a small incision on the inside of the mouth, a strategic amount of fat is removed to ensure a symmetric and balanced appearance. The procedure is typically performed under local anesthesia with medications to help reduce anxiety and pain. It can also be performed under general anesthesia by patient request, although this is rarely necessary. With Dr. Christian Paquet’s extensive surgical skill and training, you will reach your facial enhancement goals while maintaining a natural appearance.
